Happy new year!  What do you mean I'm a bit late??  OK OK it's true we are well into February now but time has just flown by because we have just been so busy.  Thankfully that means new items!  Woop!  And funnily enough one of them perfectly sums up my mood.  "I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" cries the White Rabbit and that's just how I feel!

At least we now have him and our Alice in Wonderland vintage style pendants to show off.  Alongside a new teacup design! I also promise there's even more on the way!

I would be really interested in hearing from you about any designs or items you would like to see me create?  Bring on the ideas and I will do my best to oblige!

For those who love fantasy and fairytales, I recommend you check out Scottish Ballet’s production of Alice, based on Lewis Carroll’s classic tale.  The production has previously been in Glasgow and I was lucky enough to catch it in Edinburgh tonight.  As the clip below shows, it’s a wonderfully fantastical piece with the odd kitsch touch.  I would give anything to enter such a world!

The costumes and set design are just amazing.  The detail and whimsical nature of the costumes is great and the set design helps to turn this production into a darker fairytale.  The Cheshire cat is fabulously burlesque styled with stockings and corset.  Alice’s dress is beautiful and floats and swirls amazingly, I want one!  This version is darker and truer to the book than many, so read up on it beforehand but there’s a great guide to the characters here.   It’s a very surreal but beautiful production.

Ooh and the dancing, the dancing!  I cannot claim to know anything about ballet, but it was amazing, truly talented performers.  The kind of thing where you go home afterwards wishing you were a tiny bit as talented and could move like that!  The orchestra were also amazing; we had great seats and could feel the music, as well as see the orchestra and conductor.  The music worked perfectly with the story and the dance.

Altogether an amazing production, which was very well done by some seriously talented people.  I’d love to go down the rabbit hole and live in such a fantastical world.

PS as well as the video clips, there are music clips on the site too.
